Join us at our next event
March 10 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm$26
Join us for our monthly luncheon with the guest speaker Judge Claudia Laird who presides over Montgomery County Court at Law #2.
We encourage you to use our website to pay for your lunch ticket(s). If you do not have PayPal or wish to RSVP to Ann Herbek, our hospitality chairperson, please email her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The meal this month will be fish. If you have an allergy or issue, please email Ann, and she will coordinate with Landry’s.
Due to the Governor lifting the mask and capacity restrictions just yesterday, we are still coordinating with Landry’s if they will have their own restaurant policy. As always, we ask that you please be respectful of this, and please wear your mask if you wish.
Judge Claudia Laird has presided over Montgomery County Court at Law #2 since 2011. In her first two terms, Judge Laird created the Montgomery County Domestic Violence Court and The Montgomery County Veterans’ Court.
In 2017, County Court at Law #2 was named by the Texas Office of Court Administration as a “model court” for guardianship administration practices.
In 2018, Judge Laird was appointed to serve on the Texas Judicial Counsel’s Civil Justice Advisory Committee.
In 2020, her Court was designated by the Texas Judicial Council as a Judicial Center of Excellence; at the time only four courts in Texas had received this honor.
Most recently, she was appointed by Texas Supreme Court Chief Justice Nathan Hecht to serve as one of the Law Judges on the Texas Judicial Council.
We look forward to hearing more about County Court at Law #2 from Judge Claudia Laird!
Our non-profit “spotlight” this month is on The Montgomery County Food Bank. Kristine Marlow, President and CEO, will be sharing the community vision of the Food Bank where everyone has access to sufficient, nutritious food through the support of volunteers and corporate partners.
